FOILING ENVIRONMENTAL MESSAGE

Is the use of hot stamping foils environmentally friendly?

Major foil supplier Foilco can assure you that, yes, foil stamping is eco-friendly and you should have no concerns about any negative long-term effects that your designs will have on the environment.

Foil stamping is a totally dry, solvent free process.

Paper and board that has been foil stamped can be recycled.

To be absolutely sure, two independent studies were conducted to determine the biodegradability and the recyclability of foil stamped paper.

Foil has no visible effects in slowing down the rate of biodegradation of the paper and board.

Foil also does not affect the re-pulpability of the paper substrate.

A study carried out by FSEA/PIRA has found that the foil, like ink, can be successfully removed by the flotation de-inking process with no particles remaining once the paper was re-pulped.

An introduction from Andy Spark

After completing an apprenticeship in the printing industry I spent 27 years living in Africa gathering experience in estimating, production and print management.

Since I returned to the UK I have gained immense local print knowledge and saw an opportunity in the hot foil printing industry.

In 2010 a passionate hobby became my full-time employment with the formation of Aycliffe Hot Foil. My reputation quickly spread among printers and graphic designers, for top quality and prompt hot foiling.

In 2013 the company’s capabilities were increased with the acquisition of an 1892 Anglo American Arab letterpress platen press.

My personal dedication for Hot Foil and Letterpress Printing is evident in the quality of work which I lovingly produce.

Short runs are not a problem.
